About Bones

So, since we ditched Cable and switched over to using Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime, we’ve begun shot-gunning different series. Most recently, we finished the entirety of Bones.

I think I like bones for the same reason I like Castle. I don’t always love the main characters, but I do always love the secondaries. And that is what makes me love a show – even one that is admittedly pretty formulaic.

My sister is currently in PT school and has cadaver labs so we’ve bonded over our mutual enjoyment of the show… and the fact that we have no problem eating dinner while watching it. (Side note, I’ve never been squeamish about bodies, blood, or death. Especially on television – I was sort of brought up on police procedurals, so not-real murder has been a constant thing in my life)

I think the only real problems I have with the show are:

Sometimes the writers do things that are completely against the character they’re writing for.
I really don’t feel any sort of connection to the two main characters – if one or both of them died, I could still enjoy the show (though it would be more difficult without Brennan – obviously).
The mild president they’ve se that has Earl and I constantly shouting out who’s going to be a Couple in the lab next.
And the greatest sin of all. VINCENT NIGEL-MURRAY

Now that we’ve caught up to the currently airing episodes, we’ve added it to our weekly Wednesday watch list.

So, we’ll keep on with the series and I’ll constantly hold Vincent against them, and all will be normal with the world.
