Lucy Picture of the week
Yes, Lucy needs a haircut. Yes we are watching baseball (I've beeng doing my very best to keep from talking about it. You're welcome). Yes, my boyfreind is a fuzzy green pillow, why do you ask?
(I was going to edit Earl out as he dislikes being in pictures, but he basically did that for me with the clever aplication of the shabby green pillow.)

A Day Without Pants Must Be a Good Day.
Today was a day of no pants for me. Dear Earl and I woke up relatively early and proceded to do next to nothing. Alright, so I got laundry done and managed to shower/brush my teeth, etc., but the point is I didn’t do anything productive (though I did try…)
We started to watch the D-Backs game… but things started to go downhill, so we watched the bone collector instead. I can now agree with earl that it is very seven- ish in its tone (aka dark).
Then Earl took a nap and I took a bubble bath. Baths are great for thinking, that is, unless you’re like me and like your water to be the temperature that would boil small shellfish and thus completely clears your mind of all thoughts in general. It makes it much more relaxing to have your head swimming while submerged in water.
I painted my nails too. I love my gunmetal grey fingernail polish… it makes me feel like Lady Death Strike from X-Men. I have to file them down soon too… or else I might be able to gouge someone’s eyes out.
I also performed the dreaded task of plucking my eyebrows. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I find it’s just easier to look like I don’t know what tweezers are for a month or two until II grit my teath and get to the plucking. So now I no longer look like a caveman and luckily I didn’t over do it too badly (I did that once, it was not fun. Middle-schoolers are brutal. Aside from my lack of desire to pluck, I should also mention that I don’t wear makeup accept for special occasions. I stopped in my junior year of high school.
In an attempt to get ahead on my writing, I turned on Pandora and tried to shut my life out for a few hours. It didn’t work. But I thought I should tell you to add a Tim Barry Station to your Pandora channels.
And now, I’m going to watch a Young Indiana Jones movie! I finally got the last volume of the set, and now can enjoy! I do love Sean Patrick Flannery. SPF hasn’t been enough movies in my opinion.

So Close, and yet so Far!
Dearest Katie is far away in… wait a minute, she’s closer now than usual… whatever.
Katie is at Comic Con – something we are very jealous about. I had contemplated taking a little trip over, it’s only a 4 hour drive, I’ve got free admission to Sea World and I wouldn’t mind catching a Padre’s game – even though I’m horribly made ad Cabrera (let’s not talk about that). But alas, she’ll be too busy comic con-ing it up to have any time for me.
So this is my quick little “have fun at comic con” to Katie. Though I doubt she’ll be reading her blogs until she gets back.
(PS: is it strange that I already had a San Diego tag?)

The All-Star Break
This means that we get two days without baseball. We would have three, but there’s the homerun derby and Chris Young is participating. What does the all-star break mean for me? It means three straight days when I don’t have to stress out about what insane reason is going to lose the ball game. Frankly, I don’t care about the all-star game. Today and the next two days, I’ll be doing my best to not think about baseball and let the ulcer that was trying to form get kicked about by my lack of stress.
A Day Off Is A Day Off Is A Day Off Is A Day Off Is ...
Let me tell you what we did.
1. Go to work
Please don't be confused. I woke up at 8am (because that's sleeping in for an ol' fogey like me) and after a wonderful breakfast including the yummiest sourdough, we hopped in the car and drove to work. At the office we picked up the tiller we're borrowing. Well, Earl and the Coworker-that-has-every-power-tool-imaginable loaded it in while I worked on tid-bits of things needed for chapter 23 of the WIP.
2.Drop off the tiller/pick up an amazon order
This meant driving all the way across town to the house because I dont get shipments sent to the condo. When we arrived, I helped Earl unload the tiller and massacred the box on the table. I then went into the office to take some before pictures of of my soon-to-be new writing space.
3. Go to Lunch
My dear friend Ashley moved down here about the same time i did, however, I'm a horrible friend and stink at getting together with her. But we managed to get together today and had lunch at Tim Finnegans, my favorite Irish Pub. We talk about friends and our lives since we last saw eachoter (march - see I'm horrible).
4. ANTIQUING!!!!
So there's this place called the Brass Armadillo and its an antique mall off Cactus and the I-17. It is huge and it's amazing. We totally lost two hours in there this afternoon.
5. More shopping
Earl really wanted to get a few DVD's, so we stopped by Fry's and then hit up Walmart to get the second season of The Big Bang Theory.
6. The dreaded checks!
I finally went to the bank to deal with the checks I needed to cash (one of them would have expired July 13th), and it turns out... the bank HAD changed my name on the account they just never sent me a correct card. How that happened, I'll never know. Needless to say that should be fixed shortly.
7. Baseball!
Sadly they lost though.
8. Big Bang!
Golly OI love this show... I wish Sheldon was my friend.
9. Margaritas
Yummy... that is all.
