Tea Time with Amy: Oolong Tea

So, I’ve decided in an effort to better understand my tea collection, I’m going to start a small blog series (title obvious above) in order to learn more about the tea I drink and maybe share that knowledge. This week: Oolong!

Oolong tea is the tea you get when you go to a Chinese restaurant and they bring the pot to the table (it’s like breadsticks to an Italian restaurant). And I personally love it!

Oolong is neither a black tea nor a green tea. It’s called gingcha in Chinese, translating as “Clear Tea.” High in polyphenol antioxidants, Oolong originally came from the Wuyi mountains in the Fujian province of China.

The brand I get is Triple Leaf Tea. I’ve had a difficult time finding a reasonably priced box of it in my area – hopefully you don’t have that problem.

So, do you drink Oolong? Is it your cup of tea?
