When John McClane learns his
estranged son is in a Russian prison, he hops a plane without a second thought.
But when he arrives, he finds that things are not what they seem. Jack is
actually a CIA operative working to extricate a political prisoner who holds
the key to removing a dangerous man from office. When John messes up the time
table, his son must find a way to work with him to get the man out alive.
My Thoughts:
I thought this was a fun movie. I
spent half of it laughing, but that was to be expected. I’ve loved all of the
Die Hard movies – yes, even the bad one ;) One thing I loved was the little
nods to the other films within this one.
I was pleased to see they got an
actor who did look quite a bit like Bruce. (since they managed to find an
actress who looked like little Lucy McClane. Speaking of look -likes, the woman
who played Irina looked so much so like Lara Flynn Boyle that I found myself
constantly trying to get a better look at her to convince myself it wasn’t her.
The plot was a nice change of
pace, and its premise made sense – given that the family dynamic would clearly
drive the son into that sort of a profession. And it makes perfect sense that
John would think his kid had done something stupid and then that he needed to
go fix it.
