Guy Fawkes Tea

On Saturday, I had a Guy Fawkes Tea. (Okay, so I had a tea party that just happened to land on Guy Fawkes Day)
The morning was spent finishing my baking and cleaning and at about 1:45, I put the first kettle on!
On the table, we had our three teapots. The smallest holding a mango mandarin tea, the one with pink flowers held Yorkshire Gold – an amazing English Tea – and the white and blue pot was plain water for the small assortment of teabags also available.

There were Tea Sandwiches & Scones with Devonshire Cream, Lemon Curd and Strawberry Jam. And Natalie brought up a Salad and Grapes and Brie on spinach Leaves.
And as with all tea parties ever, we ate, we talked and we sipped our tea. We also had dessert!

As you can see, I made a black forest trifle, truffles and macaroons. The sour cream cookies were made by my old roommate Allie.
And here are the girls!

Ashley is front and center; we went to high school together in Oregon and managed to both end up down here. Allie is in the back in that lovely shade of turquoise, and Natalie is closest to the window in pink. (obv, I’m taking the picture.)
Here’s a shot of Lucy begging for scones...and the hem of my dress.

  1. How lovely!

I'll have to look up Guy Fawkes and broaden my cultural horizons.

  2. I was scrolling through and I was like, "Hey! It's Ashley!" Sounds like you had a wonderful tea party, and that trifle looks scrumptious.
