I had a list of things to get done (writing wise) that
was as long as my arm. And the only way I was going to chip away at it was by
buckling down, focusing, and getting in some extra time each night. Because of
that, my desire to lose some of the weight I’ve packed on in the last year, and
the need to save up funds for some impending travel expenses… we’ve put our
social life in a closet and locked the door (don’t worry, we left it a bowl of
water and some kibble).
It’s been interesting so far, and not as difficult as I
expected. Do we miss hanging out with our friends, yes. Will they still be
there when we’re done with this? Also yes.
Is it helping with the weight loss? That has yet to be
determined. Are we accruing more funds toward the trip? Invariably. Have we been out to eat since going on
hiatus? Yes. But far less than we would have had we not made the decision to
cut back.
I've only got another week and my to do list gets longer even as I tick things off the sheet, but I'm happy we took the time.
