Oregon Trip Part 2: Central Point and Coos Bay

From Portland we headed south doing something we rarely do.... drive the same freeway the entire stretch. (Thank you I-5)

Interestingly, I don't have any pictures of our time in Central Point aside from those of Fletcher, my mom's dog....

and this picture of the early part of the sun setting from her backyard.

Oh, and Shoes from the antique store (I will never be able to wear any of these....)

After spending a few days with my mom and stepdad, we headed north once more... to the place I grew up.
The drive was tempermental.

But when we got there, nothing had really changed in the 7 years since I've lived there (Except that they moved the fire station, a fact I found irrationally disturbing.) But most everything was still the same.

Old City Hall
We stayed with my grandmother - her farm is still spectacularly beautiful....

There were even Turkeys in her yard on Thanks Giving morning. I guess those were the ones pardoned this year.

And after the big get together at my dad's house - where I managed to somehow not overstuff myself! - we went to Shore Acres for the lights. Something I've missed terribly about the holidays since I left.

The next morning we headed back toward Shore Acres, to the beach to take some pictures of the coast I left behind.

We stopped at my favorite bookstore in town, Books by the Bay

(The Intrigue section.... where most of my purchases came from)
before heading out to my Dad's house for an afternoon of board games and good food. Where my sister insisted on putting her hat on me and taking a picture... though my bun would not permit propper wearing.

  1. Thanks for the awesome pictures of the Coast, It's been 3 years since I've been home. We sure did live in a beautiful place.
