What $35 can get you on a Tuesday

We went on an odd trip to the grocery store yesterday - odd in the fact that it was a tuesday - and got the above pictured items, for a whopping $35.15.

First we went to Safeway and we got 12 boxes of Hamburger Helper in two transactions. Why the two transactions? because, if you buy 5 or more boxes of any type of Hamburger/Chicken/Tuna Helper, you get $2.00 off your next purchase of Hamburger, Chicken or Tuna in a catalina. By splitting up the purchases into two transactions of six boxes each, we got $4 instead of just $2 in a single transaction of 12.

12 boxes Hamburger/Chicken/Tuna Helper - $1.35ea ($1.99, Store Sale $1.69, MFG Coupon $1/3)

Safeway total (combine transactions) at Full Price: $24.26
Final Price Paid: $16.66
Total Savings: $7.60 (31%)

Then, because all that was in our car was boxed, non-perishable items, we went straight over to to Frys. This trip was mostly to get more hotdogs, because... a thing of hotdogs in your freezer is never a bad thing, besides, Earl is super excited about me making a hotdog pizza soonish. In this trip, we also got a catalina for $4 off our next trip to Frys. Yay for Catalinas!

12 Totinos Thin Crust Pizzas - $0.74 ( $1.29, Buy 10 get $3 off, MFG Coupon $1/4)
6 Oscar Meyer Hotdogs - $0.99 ($3.79, Store Sale $1.79, Buy 10 get $3 off, MFG Coupon $1/2)
2 Hefty One Zip  Bags - $0.69 ($3.29, Store Sale $1.49, Buy 10 get $3 off, MFG Coupon $1/2)
1 Bottle Apple Juice - $1.65

Fry's Total at Full Price: $47.09
Final Price Paid: $18.49
Total Savings: $28.60 (61%)

Currently... we really don't need to buy anything but milk and protien for the rest of the month! YAY!
