Sick

My nose deserves Puffs, indeed.

Ugh.

******
I considered ending it there. Because, I’ll admit. I really don’t feel like doing anything other than curling up in a ball and let my liquefied brains drip out my nose. Too graphic? Maybe you should have picked another blog today. Welcome to my misery.
There is the distinct possibility that someone – or something – is out to get me. Monday, at around four-ish, I inexplicably pulled a muscle in my shoulder. Let me tell you how much fun anything outside a two inch range of motion is for me! Not Very.
Yesterday out of the blue, it was like someone hit me with a ton of sick bricks. And suddenly I was so congested I was having trouble breathing normally. And since then I’ve been a one armed sniffling sexpot! Seriously, I feel so gross right now it’s not even funny.
I’m very anti-medication. When it comes down to it, I’ll do my best to soldier through whatever malady is ailing me. But THIS. This is nigh unbearable. So I broke down last night and took some Sudafed. Because there was no way I was going to be able to haul my butt out of bed if I was sickly and hadn’t gotten any sleep.
Today, I’m medicating with Advil and currently finishing off a big cup of Green Tea with Lemon, Ginsing and Honey… lots and lots of honey.
On a side note. The “facial tissues” here at work suck. I’m going to have to go buy a box to hide in my desk tonight.
Hope you’re feeling better than I am today.

  1. So sorry :( And you're a total trooper for being at work anyway. When I get even a cold my brain becomes mush and I'm totally useless.

  3. A ton of sick bricks! I love that! I mean, I don't love that you're sick, but I love that expression. It's perfection!

Also, um, can't you go home from work sick??

  4. I could go home Cheryl, but I was raised by a mother who told me you're only too sick to go to work/school if you can't properly function in the confines of normal society... and as much as I'd like to go home and throw the covers over my head until I get better, there's that little needling voice at the back of my head telling myelf I'm really not THAT sick.
