2010: An Unexamined Year In Review

2010 started off a bit oddly...

I moved the first week of January (taking the week off for the event) and then my dog accidentally got drunk. But you wouldn’t know about that, because I wasn’t here yet. Maybe I’ll post that story next month – on the anniversary…

February was short and semi uneventful. I started my other blog for my writing at the end of that month, and I was still getting into the swing of things.

March, I turned 23. I’ve never done much for my birthdays… we had some people over to play apples to apples… maybe this year (what with living down town) will be different.

April is when I started this blog. I’ll admit that even blogging for two months somewhere else hadnt really gotten me into the swing of blogging. But this is how we got to where we are now. I went to San Diego to meet my Dad and that part of my family. My youngest step sister was returning from a year at a bible college in Tijuana. And we took a little trip to SeaWorld and visited the Midway.

In May we started the Back Yard Renovation at Earl’s mom’s house. It’s so close to being finished, it’s silly. Also, I watched a lot of baseball.

June was mildly warm… who am I kidding June gets hot. I watched more baseball, crying on the inside at how horrible the D-Backs were doing, and then we did more yard work.

July I posted the story that gets the most hits of anything I’ve written on this blog yet… all because of a little picture or two of some coconut crabs – no one seems to care that dragonflies have telepathic powers. We took a brief jaunt up north, catching Sunset crater and the Grand Canyon before staying in Sedona.

August. Did I mention it was hot? We took Earl’s dad to the ball park for his birthday. I baked a metric but ton of cookies and mailed them to a few lucky people, and I discussed the propensity for things to want to kill themselves on our SUV.

September began the marginal cool down and we drove to Bloody basin. I also discussed my illness with pictures. And asked the question, are we losing our morality?

October holds my favorite holiday, Halloween and thus it is one of my favorite holidays. I reached my 100-th post and found out that I had a Lipoma in my forearm – luckily it’s not under the tattoo!

November was a whirl wind month. I did two 30 day memes here and on my other blog and in the course of a week was suddenly moving again! Thanksgiving saw me in a new apartment (instead of in Memphis as planned) and with an entirely new outlook on life.

December, this moth has been fun. I’ve introduced you to my new apartment, I’ve given you some soup recipes and I’ve told you about the Christmases of my past – that is when I wasn’t ignoring you to spend time with dear ol’ mum.

There’s only two more days in the year! What did you do this year? Did you have a favorite post of mine?

  2. I need to hear the dog got drunk story.

And a bible college in Tijuana? That sounds like a contradiction of terms.

    Great year in review.

Here's mine: Got a little closer to getting a book published. The rest is all just one frenzied blur. Oh, and of course, got myself a critique partner. What could be better?

  3. Oh my gosh, I was totally going to say the same thing about a bible college in Tijuana! I thought that was funny.

I'm glad we discovered we were both on gchat and have started talking again! Heck, you get more attention from me during the day than Jesse does.
