Vanilla – The best thing ever is this Vanilla butter cream lotion from bodycology it’s so delicious I want to eat my hands. Vanilla anything (as far as baking goes) is pretty awesome. I mean, chocolate’s good and all, but Vanilla’s still my favorite.
Orange – The best thing you can do for your margarita is put in some Citronge and an orange slice/wedge. Orange juice too is pretty fantastic (no pulp please).
And hey… look at the pretty candle. This is one of those little things that make me happy. The smell of orange is wonderful when it’s wafting about you in your bubble bath.
Coffee – Freshly ground beans will forever be the best thing to wake up to. I’ve often contemplated buying a grinder and coffee beans just for the smell in the morning (ok, all day). Gimme a warm cup of joe when I’m in the northwest and a blended one down here and I’m set!
Lemon – Let me tell you why I love sour things. I love the paralytic effect they have on your jaw muscles. Strange, I know, but true. And the zest of a lemon… yum. That is a smell that will never get old.
Before I go on, let me ask you a question.
Did the guy who invented “watermelon –flavor” ever eat a watermelon? The same goes for most other fruit flavors (specifically in candy).
Watermelon - I don’t know about you, but I hate watermelon. I just don’t see the point. Give me a cantaloupe or honey dew any day, but you can keep your watermelon. Maybe it’s the seeds, maybe it’s the fact that it DOESN’T TASTE LIKE ANYTHING!!! I’m not sure. But I do like watermelon candy. I just think its false advertising.
Banana – I can eat one banana every 3 months and be perfectly fine not eating one again for 3 months. I don’t hate bananas. I tolerate them. I don’t mind banana bread though.
Onion – cooked and we have no problem, heck slap them on a bagel or a hamburger bun. But raw unions smell like B.O. and frankly I see no value in them at all. I’m going to side with the judge from Chopped (Scott?) and say keep the uncooked onions to yourself.
Jalapeños - Ok. So I will admit that the Jalapeno poppers from the Boiler Room in the Colorado Belle are pretty much fantastic. But other than that, I have no desire, what so ever to eat a jalapeño. Maybe it’s because my ancestors are from the northern reaches of scandahovia, I’m not sure. But I had the option of which famous chef would be my friend, Bobby Flay would be toward the bottom of the list. I don’t like hot.
You're the first person to agree with me that onions smell like b.o.! Except you reached that conclusion independently . . .but still. I can tell what kind of onions were on Nick's pizza or sammich from how his breath smells.
ReplyDeleteI do like real watermelons, but I don't know what is going on with watermelon flavored things.
ReplyDeleteAnd I rarely drink coffee, but I regularly have to grind coffee beans at work and they smell FABULOUS.
Jenna, I discovered that Onions and BO are the same smell in high school biology... it is not a lesson I've ever been able to forget.
ReplyDeleteKatie, you may have all of my watermelons and may grind me coffee beans any time you'd like.
